Brand name generator
Brand names you can own: distinctive, pronounceable, with a trademark search link and live domain availability on every card.
What makes a good brand name
A brand name is an asset: it is what you trademark, what you print on the packaging and what the customer asks for by name. That rules out descriptive names (they cannot be trademarked) and most real words (they are taken or expensive). The brands that scaled recently (Oatly, Liquid Death, Notion, Lemonade) are short, distinctive and slightly unexpected. This generator leans on invented words and twisted real words, shows how each would be pronounced, links every card to a trademark search and checks the .com live, so the name you fall for is a name you can keep.
Describe the product, the customer and the feeling of using it. The feeling ("a treat for people cutting down on alcohol") is where the distinctive names come from.
Tips that save a rename
- Run the trademark link on every finalist; a brand with a trademark conflict is a brand you will rename.
- Say the name in the customer's language and in English; make sure both are easy.
- Check the Instagram handle; for consumer brands it is the storefront.
- Picture it on the packaging at 10 mm high; long names become logos nobody reads.
What makes a brand name ownable?
Distinctive enough to register as a trademark in your product class and free as a domain and social handle. Invented words clear both tests most easily.
Should a brand name mean something?
A faint connotation helps (speed, warmth, nature), but meaning is built by marketing. A neutral name with a strong story beats a clever name nobody can own.
How do I check a brand name before launch?
Trademark databases for your market and class, the domain here, the handles, and a plain Google search for existing products. Read our guide on trademark checks.

Frequently asked questions
Everything you need to know about our domain name generator.
Is NamePulsar free?
Yes. Generating names, scoring them and checking availability is free and needs no account. When you register a domain, you do it directly with the registrar.
How accurate is the availability check?
We query DNS and the official RDAP registry data in real time. “Available” means the registry has no record of the domain. “Likely available” means the domain has no DNS records but that registry doesn't offer RDAP to confirm. Premium or reserved names can still cost more at the registrar, so always confirm at checkout.
What is the Pulse score?
A 1–10 brandability estimate based on length, pronounceability, syllable count and spelling pitfalls (digits, awkward consonant clusters, double letters). It helps you compare names; it says nothing about trademarks, so run a trademark search before you commit.
Which domain extensions are supported?
.com, .io, .ai, .co, .app, .dev, .net, .org, .xyz, .me, .eu, .de and .ro. Choose the ones you care about before you generate, or hit “all extensions” on any card.
Do you store my project description or shortlist?
No. Your description is sent to the AI model to generate names and isn't saved by NamePulsar. Your shortlist lives only in your browser; share links simply carry the names in the URL.
What makes a good brandable domain name?
Short (ideally under 10 characters), easy to spell after hearing it once, easy to pronounce, distinctive enough to trademark, and available as a .com or a strong alternative like .io or .ai.
