Brandable domain name generator
Short, pronounceable, trademarkable names that are actually still free as .com, scored with our Pulse brandability metric.
What makes a domain name brandable
"Brandable" has a precise meaning in the domain world: a name that is short, easy to say and spell, has no dictionary meaning that limits it, and can be trademarked. Those names are what domain marketplaces sell for thousands, and they are what the big launches use (Zapier, Klarna, Vercel). The trick is that you can generate them yourself and register them for a normal price if nobody has thought of that exact combination yet. This page sets the generator to invented words and checks the .com first, because a brandable name without its .com is worth much less.
You do not need a finished business idea. Describe the mood (modern, friendly, premium, technical) and the category if you have one, and the Pulse score will rank the output by how easy each name is to say and remember.
Tips that save a rename
- Five to eight letters, two syllables, a vowel ending and no digits is the pattern that scores highest and is still occasionally free.
- Say each shortlisted name to someone and ask them to spell it; the radio test is still the best filter.
- Run the trademark link on every card; a brandable name with a trademark conflict is not brandable.
- If you find a name you love with the .com free, register it today; truly brandable .coms do not stay free.
What makes a domain name brandable?
Short, pronounceable, distinctive, no limiting meaning and free as a trademark and a .com. Our Pulse score measures the first three automatically.
Why are brandable .coms so expensive on marketplaces?
Because someone did this work years ago and is holding the name. Generating a fresh one costs you a few minutes and a standard registration fee.
Is .io or .ai acceptable for a brandable name?
For tech and AI products yes, but the resale and recognition value sits with the .com. Try to get both.

Frequently asked questions
Everything you need to know about our domain name generator.
Is NamePulsar free?
Yes. Generating names, scoring them and checking availability is free and needs no account. When you register a domain, you do it directly with the registrar.
How accurate is the availability check?
We query DNS and the official RDAP registry data in real time. “Available” means the registry has no record of the domain. “Likely available” means the domain has no DNS records but that registry doesn't offer RDAP to confirm. Premium or reserved names can still cost more at the registrar, so always confirm at checkout.
What is the Pulse score?
A 1–10 brandability estimate based on length, pronounceability, syllable count and spelling pitfalls (digits, awkward consonant clusters, double letters). It helps you compare names; it says nothing about trademarks, so run a trademark search before you commit.
Which domain extensions are supported?
.com, .io, .ai, .co, .app, .dev, .net, .org, .xyz, .me, .eu, .de and .ro. Choose the ones you care about before you generate, or hit “all extensions” on any card.
Do you store my project description or shortlist?
No. Your description is sent to the AI model to generate names and isn't saved by NamePulsar. Your shortlist lives only in your browser; share links simply carry the names in the URL.
What makes a good brandable domain name?
Short (ideally under 10 characters), easy to spell after hearing it once, easy to pronounce, distinctive enough to trademark, and available as a .com or a strong alternative like .io or .ai.
